About

Thecybergurus.com was founded about 4 years ago, a spin off of some of my other site in the past, cyber-guru.net. I wanted a place where my friends and I could post about any technology project, or topic that we felt was interesting. I hope to fill this site with tons of tech. help articles and cool projects that are of interest to other “geeky” folk out there, so stop back offen.

Would your Charles 803 part supplier sell parts to another person?

I’m not sure if they sell to the public or not, it’s a local piping company, actually 2. They dont have a store front, they do big contract work for like hospitals, universities etc. You may be able to find a similar company in your area.

I read about the modulation problem with the control valve on your 803. For about 40 bucks, you can buy a pid controller on ebay (search on “pid”). With this, a suitable thermocouple, and an electric valve and you will have the finest temperature control money can buy. The pid is a smart controller which learns how to adjust to prevent overshoot and so on. You can also use one to automate beer temperature control for higher alcohol yeilds.
